Vibe Coding
Vibe coding is a software development approach where users interact with AI models using natural language to generate, modify, and deploy code. Instead of writing traditional syntax line-by-line, the user relies on the "vibe" or intuitive understanding of the desired outcome, guiding the AI through prompts. It gained significant popularity around 2024 and 2025 as large language models became highly capable of writing complete, functional applications from simple conversational instructions.
- Find a game that matches the language and game format that interests you.
- Click the SOURCE button to download the build-instructions for that game.
- Edit the "Content Generation" section of the build-instructions and save the file.
- Open an AI chatbot in your browser (Google AI Studio, Claude and ChatGPT are known to work.)
- Upload the edited build-instructions and Run.
- Wait for the index.html file to be created, and then just open it in a browser.
The entire process should take less than five minutes, most of which is spent waiting for the AI to produce the game. Video Guide for building on AI Studio: Video Guide.
Google AI Studio offers a generous free tier that allows users to experiment with various Gemini models at no cost, subject to daily rate limits. By setting up a billing account and generating an API key, you unlock full access to all models, higher rate limits, and pay-as-you-go pricing based on token usage.
Using an API key and the most advanced model, the cost per game would about 0.40 USD. With a flash model, the cost would be an order of magnitude lower (but with somewhat higher likelihood of bugs/hallucinations).

The frontier models from any of those companies are capable of producing the games. But Google has more training data for under-resourced languages like Pashto and Navajo. Google also offers models that are substantially cheaper than its competitors.
Foreign Language Voices
The games use the Web Speech API, a web standard that allows browsers to utilize your device's built-in text-to-speech (TTS) engine. It is widely supported on modern browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. Because the API hooks directly into your operating system's native speech synthesizer, the specific languages, accents, and voice quality available depend entirely on the device you are using and the language packs you have installed locally.
That problem can often be solved by adding language support on your device (see below). If that does not work, then you can use the MUTE button.
For Android 14-16: Go to Settings → System → Keyboard & input → Text-to-speech output. Tap the gear icon next to your preferred engine, select "Install voice data", and download your desired language.
For Android 10-13: Go to Settings → Accessibility → Text-to-speech output. Tap the gear icon, select "Install voice data", and choose the language to download.

To install a voice on iOS 26: Go to Settings → Accessibility → Read and Speak → Voices. Select your target Language, choose a specific Voice, and tap the Cloud Icon to download it to your device.

Go to Settings → Time & language → Speech. Under the "Manage voices" section, click "Add voices". Search for the language you want to learn, select it, and click "Add" to download the voice package.
Open System Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content. Next to "System voice", click the dropdown menu and select "Manage Voices...". Find your desired language in the list, click the download icon next to the voice you want to use, and click OK.
On most Linux distributions, you can install speech-dispatcher and espeak-ng. Open your terminal and run a command like
sudo apt install speech-dispatcher espeak-ng. You can then configure the default voices in your system's accessibility settings or browser configuration.
You can try installing RHVoice, a free, open-source text-to-speech synthesizer available on the Google Play Store. It offers high-quality voices for languages that are often unsupported by default system engines, including Belarusian, Tatar, Esperanto, and Ukrainian. Once installed, set it as your preferred text-to-speech engine in Android settings.

To get broader language support on Windows, especially for use in Firefox, you can install eSpeak-NG with SAPI5 support. Download the latest eSpeak-NG installer from its official GitHub repository, ensuring you check the SAPI5 option during installation. This adds support for over 100 languages, including many indigenous and minority languages that native Windows lacks, making them accessible to the Web Speech API in Firefox.
Use the MUTE button at the top of the game.
App Installation on Mobile
Installing the app as a Progressive Web App (PWA) allows you to launch it directly from your home screen without opening a browser first. It provides a full-screen, immersive experience without browser address bars, and allows the games and assets to be cached locally so you can play offline or on slow connections.
To install the app on an iPhone running iOS 26, open a language page (for example French) in Safari. Tap the three dots menu at the bottom of the screen, and then Share. Scroll down the share menu and tap "Add to Home Screen". Finally, confirm the app's name and tap Add in the top right corner. Then you should open that app when you are still online, at that point the games are actually downloaded.

Apple has historically placed restrictions on Progressive Web Apps to maintain the dominance and security model of its native App Store. By requiring users to manually add PWAs via the Safari share menu rather than offering a simple "Install" prompt like Android, Apple ensures that web apps do not easily bypass the App Store review process and fee structure.
About the Project
- Cognitive benefits with regard to dementia: Studies have shown that bilingualism can delay the onset of dementia and Alzheimer's disease by several years. Learning and using a second language builds cognitive reserve, strengthening the brain's executive control system and improving overall mental agility as we age.
- Tourism is more fulfilling when you speak the local language: Traveling becomes a much richer experience when you can converse with locals in their native tongue. It opens doors to authentic cultural exchanges, helps you navigate off the beaten path, and demonstrates respect for the host country, often resulting in warmer hospitality.
- Business deals are easier when you speak your partner's language: In the global marketplace, speaking a client's or partner's language builds trust and rapport much faster than relying on translators. It helps in understanding cultural nuances in negotiation, prevents miscommunications, and shows a commitment to the business relationship.
- Many schools and universities require foreign language study: A solid foundation in a second language is often a prerequisite for higher education admissions and graduation. It demonstrates academic rigor, cultural awareness, and a willingness to engage with the broader world, making students more competitive in their academic and professional pursuits.
The drag-and-drop games were produced by Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview. It provided the best language coverage, especially for endangered languages like Navajo.
The top-level language pages like French were produced by Claude Opus.
The home page, FAQ, and "Video Guides" pages were made with Gemini.
Minimally intrusive targeted ads (not on the games themselves). The site also serves as a portfolio asset and proof of concept.
